| Bio | CC Sabathia signed the richest contract for a pitcher in the history of baseball when he signed a 7 year deal with the New York Yankees on December 18, 2008. He then became the Opening Day starter and started the home opener at the new Yankee Stadium, pitching the first pitch ever at the new Yankee Stadium. As a rookie with the Cleveland Indians in 201, CC won 17 games against only 5 losses, finishing 2nd in the Rookie of the Year balloting. At age 20, he was the youngest player in the Major Leagues in 2001. In 2007 with the Indians, his 19-7 record with a 3.21 ERA won him the Cy Young Award. In 2008, he was traded midway through the season to the Milwaukee Brewers, where he went 11-2 with a 1.65 ERA in 17 starts with Milwaukee. Between Cleveland and Milwaukee, he won 17 games in 2008. CC is a 4x All-Star. |
